Description
Stefania is a Lagoon 400 S2 catamaran built in 2017 and based at Alimos Marina, Athens: the choice for crews who want space and a boat that stays level.
On two hulls there is little heel under sail and less roll at anchor, which makes a real difference to young children and anyone prone to seasickness. The saloon and cockpit share one level, and six cabins with four bathrooms sleep ten, so everyone finds a corner of their own. With a beam of 7.32 metres and a draught of just 1.22 metres she can anchor in shallower water, closer to the beach, than a monohull of similar length.
Air conditioning and a generator help on hot nights, a hydraulic gangway makes stepping ashore easy when moored stern-to, and the bathrooms have electric flush toilets and a holding tank. Two 45 HP engines, a full-batten mainsail, a furling genoa, autopilot and GPS plotter handle the sailing, with solar panels at anchor.
She suits families, two families together, or friends who put comfort first. A catamaran handles differently from a monohull in harbour, so if nobody aboard has sailed one, add a skipper from the extras.
